The Aruba Instant On 1430 16G PoE 124W is a fully PoE+ plug-and-play switch designed to deploy Wi-Fi access points, IP cameras and VoIP phones in SMEs or small offices, with no network configuration at all.
16 Gigabit RJ45 ports, all able to power Class 4 PoE devices: each port delivers up to 30 W in line with the IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards, for a total budget of 124 W allocated dynamically across connected devices.
Unmanaged (Plug & Play): no configuration required, up and running immediately once plugged in — ideal for sites without a dedicated IT team.

How many devices can the 124 W of PoE power?
Four 30 W devices, or a dozen 10 W cameras: the 124 W is shared across the 16 Class 4 PoE ports. 15.4 W 802.3af devices are supported in the same way. The number of ports is not the limit; the budget is.
Can this 16-port PoE model be configured?
No: the 1430 is an unmanaged switch, with no management interface. No VLANs, no port settings, no monitoring: it powers devices and switches traffic as soon as it is plugged in. That is the series' deliberate trade-off: total simplicity in exchange for no control.
Is a 16-port PoE switch noisy?
No, not at all: the entire 1430 series is designed without a fan, PoE models included; cooling is passive. That is what allows it to be installed in a meeting room or a busy office, where a model with a fan would be unbearable.
How much electrical power does this switch require?
147 W maximum (including the 124 W of PoE) and only 5 W at idle, on a 100-127 or 200-240 V input. The power supply is built into the chassis: no external adapter to find room for; a simple power cable is all it takes.
Do 802.1X authentication frames pass through this switch?
Yes: 802.1X EAPOL frames are forwarded, so a workstation connected behind it can authenticate with the managed switch upstream. BPDU frames also pass through, which lets Spanning Tree detect loops above it.
Do voice and video get priority without any configuration?
Yes. Quality of service recognises packets marked with DSCP or IEEE 802.1p and moves them ahead of the rest of the traffic, automatically. Flow control also limits packet loss when a network node is congested.
What performance and footprint does this 16-port model offer?
32 Gbps capacity, 23.80 Mpps and latency below 1.80 µs at Gigabit, with 8,192 MAC addresses and a 2 MB buffer. The chassis measures 275 mm wide, 260 mm deep and 44 mm high, and weighs 2.09 kg.
Do jumbo frames pass through for heavy transfers?
Yes, up to 9,216 bytes, which speeds up large copies to a NAS. The IEEE 802.3az standard also reduces consumption during quiet periods, and the switch handles 0 to 40 °C at altitudes of up to 3 km.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
