How many devices can the 123 W of PoE+ power?
123 W shared between the 8 ports, each PoE+ compliant at up to 30 W. Four PTZ cameras at 30 W use almost all of it; eight fixed cameras at 12 W fit comfortably. It is a generous budget for eight ports, unlike higher-density models.
Can this switch be configured?
No: the GS108PP is not manageable and does not support SNMP. There are no VLANs, no web interface and no monitoring: you plug it in and it powers devices. To segment the network or monitor the ports, you need a managed model.
How much electrical power does this switch require?
128.6 W at most, including the 123 W of PoE: the switch itself uses only a few watts. Plan a dedicated power outlet and, if the cameras are critical, a UPS sized for this figure.
Can this 8-port model be mounted in a rack?
