The Aruba Instant On 1430 8G PoE 64W is a compact, fully PoE+ plug-and-play switch to power and connect up to eight IP devices in an office, meeting room or small shop, with no network configuration at all.
8 Gigabit RJ45 ports, all able to deliver Class 4 PoE power: each port supplies up to 30 W (IEEE 802.3af/at), for a total budget of 64 W managed automatically according to the needs of connected devices.
Unmanaged (Plug & Play): plug in and use straight away, with no management interface and no IT team needed.
Silent, fanless operation, suited to noise-sensitive open-plan workspaces.

How many devices can the 64 W of PoE power?
Two 30 W devices, or four 15 W cameras: the 64 W is shared between the Class 4 PoE ports of this 8-port model. 15.4 W 802.3af devices are supported in the same way. The budget, not the number of ports, sets the limit.
Can this PoE switch be configured?
No: the 1430 is an unmanaged switch, with no management interface. No VLANs, no monitoring, no port settings: it powers devices and switches traffic as soon as it is plugged in. That is the series' deliberate choice — simplicity in exchange for no control.
How is this 8-port PoE model powered?
By an external adapter rated 54 V at 1.58 A: make sure there is a power outlet nearby and room for the power brick. Power consumption reaches 90 W at full PoE load and drops to 4.1 W at idle.
Does a PoE switch of this size make any noise?
No, none: the entire 1430 series is fanless, PoE models included. The unit measures 177 × 150 × 37 mm, weighs 770 grams and can sit on a desk or in a small cabinet without any noise.
Do 802.1X authentication frames pass through this switch?
Yes: 802.1X EAPOL frames are forwarded, so a computer connected behind it can authenticate with the managed switch upstream. BPDU frames also pass through, which lets spanning tree do its job above it.
Are voice and video prioritised without any configuration?
Yes. Quality of service recognises packets tagged with DSCP or IEEE 802.1p and sends them ahead of the rest of the traffic. Flow control, meanwhile, limits packet loss when a network node is congested.
What internal performance does this 8-port PoE model offer?
16 Gbps of switching capacity and 11.90 Mpps, with an 8,192-entry MAC address table, a 2 MB buffer and latency below 1.80 µs at Gigabit speed. Jumbo frames go up to 9,216 bytes to speed up large transfers.
In what conditions can this switch operate?
From 0 to 40 °C, at 15 to 95% non-condensing humidity, and at altitudes of up to 3 km. The IEEE 802.3az standard reduces power consumption during periods of low activity, which limits heat build-up in a closed cabinet.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
