Frequently asked questions about this product

Are the 16 ports on the TL-SF1016D Gigabit?
No: they are 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet. That is enough for office computers, printers and wired IP phones, but not for heavy transfers to network storage.
Can the TL-SF1016D be configured?
No: it is an unmanaged model. No VLANs and no management interface: you plug it in and it switches. MAC address auto-learning and auto-negotiation take care of themselves.
Can this switch be mounted on a wall?
Yes, wall mounting is supported and included. The casing measures approximately 201 × 143 × 41 mm: it can be screwed inside a comms cupboard or in a classroom, out of the way of trailing cables.
How much power does this switch add to your consumption?
3.23 W maximum, from an external adapter that is included, giving off 7.03 BTU/h of heat. Sixteen active ports for the consumption of a night light: it can stay on permanently.
What performance does this switch offer?
3.2 Gbps switching capacity, with a 2,000-entry MAC address table in store-and-forward mode. 802.3x flow control works in both full duplex and half duplex.
Does this switch power a camera over PoE?
No, none of its sixteen ports supplies power. An IP camera or Wi-Fi access point connected to this switch needs its own power supply, or a PoE injector placed on the link.
What temperature range does this switch operate in?
0 to 40 °C, at 10 to 90% relative humidity. As it gives off only 7.03 BTU/h, it can cope with a closed cupboard, provided it is not placed right up against a heat source.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The TL-SF1016D has a white casing, comes with its power adapter and is FCC and CE certified.
