Frequently asked questions about this product

Are the TL-SF1008D's ports Gigabit?
No: all eight ports are 10/100 Mbps. This is a Fast Ethernet switch, intended for devices that do not need Gigabit. Switching capacity is 1.6 Gbps, with full duplex on every port.
Do I need a crossover cable to connect two devices?
No: Auto MDI/MDI-X corrects the pinout automatically and auto-negotiation detects the speed of each device. Flow control also limits packet loss when a port is saturated.
How much space does this switch take up, and how much power does it use?
134.5 × 79 × 22.5 mm and 2.05 W maximum: a case the size of a deck of cards, to set on a piece of furniture. Rack mounting is not supported on this model.
How many devices can this switch keep track of?
Its table holds 1,000 MAC addresses, which comfortably covers a home or a small office. It works in store-and-forward mode, which discards damaged frames before relaying them.
In what conditions can this switch operate?
From 0 to 40 °C, with 10 to 90% relative humidity in operation. It is FCC, CE and RoHS certified, and runs on a 220 V, 50 Hz power supply.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. This is the TP-Link TL-SF1008D, version V11, an 8-port unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch, with no power delivered over the network cable.
