Frequently asked questions about this product

Will you need to replace a lamp on the Epson EB-L260F?
No, its light source is a laser, rated for 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 hours in Eco mode. There is therefore no lamp or consumable to buy, and the unit switches on and off instantly, without the warm-up and cool-down time of a lamp-based model.
Can you stream from a laptop or mobile device without a cable?
Yes, Wi-Fi and Miracast are built in. A laptop or mobile device sends its screen directly, and the PIN code function with user name display prevents a participant from taking over while the trainer is projecting. The iProjection app completes the setup.
Does the EB-L260F accept a microphone for a training room?
Yes, it has a microphone input and a built-in 16 W speaker: the trainer is amplified by the projector itself, with no separate PA system. This is a real help in a classroom or lecture theatre, where the voice does not carry well.
How much throw distance does the EB-L260F need for a 310-inch image?
The projection distance ranges from 0.9 m to 9.1 m for images from 31 to 310 inches, i.e. up to 7.9 m wide. The throw ratio of 1.32 to 2.12:1 reads as follows: the distance to the wall is 1.32 to 2.12 times the width of the image, with the 1.62× optical zoom then fine-tuning the framing.
Can the EB-L260F be installed in any position?
Yes, 360-degree installation is possible without degrading the image: ceiling, table, floor or wall mounting. Two projectors can also be placed side by side thanks to edge blending, which merges the join between two images so that they form a single, very wide one.
How do you straighten the EB-L260F's image if it is skewed?
Vertical correction is automatic over ± 30°; horizontal correction is manual, also over ± 30°, with four-corner adjustment and arc correction for curved surfaces. The unit also switches on by itself as soon as it detects a video signal.
Can you plug a USB flash drive directly into the EB-L260F?
Yes. The USB Type-A port delivers 2 A, enough to read a flash drive but also to power a streaming device without an extra power adapter near the ceiling. Two HDCP 2.2-compatible HDMI inputs, two VGA inputs, a composite input and an HDMI output complete the connectivity.
Can the EB-L260F be monitored remotely by the IT department?
Yes. It connects via Ethernet and supports HTTPS, IPv6, SNMP and PJLink, with browser-based control and a scheduling function for power-on and power-off. It is recognised by Crestron, Extron, AMX and Control4 systems, and the Epson Projector Management software monitors its status.
How much power does the EB-L260F use, and does it run hot?
199 W in normal use, 144 W in Eco mode and 0.5 W in standby, for a maximum heat dissipation of 884 BTU per hour — the figure to remember when sizing the air conditioning of a closed room.
Is the EB-L260F quiet in operation?
37 dB(A) in normal mode, 27 dB(A) in Eco mode. At 4.2 kg for 325 × 299 × 90 mm, it remains portable while also accepting a permanent installation. An ELPAF60 air filter is available as an accessory for dusty environments.
What image does the EB-L260F give in a bright room?
4,600 lumens of white and colour brightness, 3,200 lumens in Eco mode, with a contrast ratio of 2,500,000:1. 3LCD technology handles the three colours on three separate panels: colours keep their intensity even when the room is not in darkness.
What is in the EB-L260F box?
The unit, a 1.80 m HDMI cable, the power cable and the remote control with its batteries. You can therefore start projecting straight out of the box. The ELPMB60W ceiling mount, the ELPKS71 carrying case and the ELPCB03 connection box are available separately.
Is the EB-L260F laser projector new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, the invoice serving as the warranty document. Note the part number V11HA69080: the EB-L series includes several similar models, and this is what identifies this exact version for an accessory or a service call.
