It is an access point designed for Bosch DICENTIS conference systems: it provides the wireless link between the conference devices and is configured with the DICENTIS software. So check that your installation is indeed based on this system before ordering it.
Do you need a central unit to use the DCNM-WAP?
No, it works stand-alone, without a central unit: it is the device that runs the system for a room. This simplifies installation in a meeting room or auditorium that has no dedicated equipment rack.
How is the DCNM-WAP powered?
Three ways: the supplied power adapter, an 802.3af PoE port, or the DICENTIS multimedia POE system network cable. Its power consumption is 10 W, and the power adapter accepts 100 to 240 V, with EU, UK, US and AU plugs.
Which bands does the DCNM-WAP operate on?
Both: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, in Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n), with seamless frequency switching between them. The system therefore moves on its own to the band with the least interference, without interrupting the session in progress.
Are the DCNM-WAP's communications encrypted?
Yes, the access point uses WPA2 encryption to secure communication between the devices and the access point — a common requirement in council chambers and institutional settings, where debates must not be overheard from the corridor.
Where can the DCNM-WAP be installed?

Through a Gigabit Ethernet port, which can also power it via PoE. A single cable is therefore enough between the rack and the room's ceiling, which saves running a power line to the mounting point.
