Does the EncorePro 510 plug directly into USB?
No. It ends in a QD (Quick Disconnect) connector and connects to a desk phone or a computer via a QD cord or adapter, which you will need in addition to the headset.
What is the QD connector for in everyday use?
For moving between workstations without unplugging everything: the connector unclips in one movement in the middle of the cord and clips back in when you return, without hanging up or taking off the headset.
