How long do the JBL Tune Buds last with noise cancelling on?
Up to 10 hours from the earbuds alone, with noise cancelling on, and 40 hours in total with the case. Without noise cancelling, you get 12 and 48 hours. The advertised 48 hours therefore assume noise cancelling is switched off.
What if I head out with flat earbuds?
15 minutes of charging gives 4 hours of playback. A full charge takes 2 hours. On calls, allow 6 hours with noise cancelling on and 6.6 hours with it off — the difference is small, as the mic is working in both cases.
Can you share your music with someone?
Yes: Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio support lets you stream the sound to several listeners with earbuds. It also sends the stream independently to each earbud, which means you can use just one of the two.
Can you adjust how much of your own voice you hear during a call?
Yes, with VoiceAware: you set how much of the signal picked up by the mics is fed back into your earbuds. This stops you from talking too loudly when you cannot hear yourself, a common reflex with earbuds that isolate well.
What is the oval shape of the ear tips for?
The oval tube follows the ergonomics of the ear: it provides a secure fit, natural blocking of outside noise and better sound reproduction all at once. It is this physical isolation that gives the bass its presence, even before the electronics come into play.
Can you hear what is going on around you without taking the earbuds out?
Yes, with two modes: Ambient Aware lets outside sounds back in so you feel safer outdoors, and TalkThru lets you stop and exchange a few words without taking anything out.
Can they be worn in the rain or during a workout?
Yes: they are rated IP54, water- and dust-resistant. Neither a workout nor a downpour should cause them any trouble. The stated maximum operating temperature is 45 °C.
What is in the box of the Tune Buds?
The earbuds, the charging case, a USB Type-C charging cable, three sizes of ear tips, the warranty booklet and the quick start guide. As the cable is included, there is nothing else you need.
How good are the drivers in the Tune Buds?
10 mm drivers, with 32 ohm impedance and 101 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz, a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and a maximum sound pressure level of 93 dB. This is Pure Bass sound, with deliberately pronounced bass.
What can you adjust in the JBL Headphones app?
Listening and touch gestures, ambient noise control, the Smart Audio & Video modes, and the feature that helps you find misplaced earbuds. The app is not needed to listen, only to personalise.
Are these JBL earbuds new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. Full specifications are listed in the manufacturer's datasheet.
