Is 76 W of PoE enough for 16 ports?
No, you have to prioritise: 76 W spread across 16 ports leaves about 4.7 W per port if they are all in use. In practice, five fixed cameras at 15 W already use up the budget. Each port accepts up to 30 W of PoE+, but not all at the same time.
Can this switch be configured or monitored?
No: the GS116LP is not manageable and does not support SNMP. No VLANs, no interface, no alerts — it switches traffic and powers devices, with no settings. To segment or monitor, you need a managed model.
How much electrical power should you plan for this 16-port model?
90 W at most, including the 76 W of PoE. That is little for sixteen Gigabit ports: most of the power goes to the powered devices, with the switch itself needing only a few watts.
Can this switch be mounted in a rack?
