Frequently asked questions about this product
What is the SC 660 ANC's proximity sensor for?
For managing calls by gesture: picking up the headset answers the call, putting it down puts the call on hold. No more hunting for the “answer” button on screen when the phone rings while you are typing.
Can you switch active noise cancellation off whenever you like?
Yes, ANC switches on and off with a button on the headset. You turn it on to concentrate in the open-plan office and off to stay aware of the room, without going back through any software.
What is in the box of the Impact SC 660 ANC?
The headset, its faux leather ear cushions, a magnetic holder, a clip for attaching the cable or to clothing, a carry pouch, the quick guide and the safety guide.
What does this headset plug into, and with which platforms?
Into a computer's USB-A port, with no installation. Reference 1000650 is UC optimised and certified for Microsoft Teams, Works with Chromebook, Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and Enreach.
Where are the volume and microphone mute controls?
On the inline control unit built into the cable: volume, mute, answering and ending calls. One press also redials the last number dialled, without going back to the phone keypad.
Is your hearing protected against acoustic shocks?
Yes, by EPOS ActiveGard, which clips peaks before they reach your ear, and by an adjustable noise limiter compliant with European Directive 2003/10/EC on noise at work.
How is this headset tougher than an entry-level model?
Through its materials: brushed aluminium and stainless steel for the structure, and Vectran-reinforced cables. On a workstation where the headset is handled a hundred times a day, the cable is the first thing to give out.
How do you find your setting again when several agents share the headset?
The extendable headband carries numbered markings: each person memorises their notch and sets it again in one move when taking over the workstation, instead of fumbling to readjust at the start of a call.
Does this headset fit easily into a bag?
Yes, the ear cups fold flat and the headset slips into the supplied pouch. For a workstation shared between the office and remote work, that is what stops the headband being crushed in a full bag.
Is the SC 660 ANC also suitable for listening to music?
Yes: the speakers cover 50 to 18,000 Hz and a sound enhancement profile switches automatically between calls and media content. The microphone, for its part, works in wideband from 150 to 6,800 Hz.
How much does this stereo headset with active noise cancellation weigh?
110 g for this binaural ANC version — the heaviest in the series, as the noise-cancelling electronics and their microphones add to the two earpieces. The weight is spread over both ears.
Can this headset be configured and updated?
Yes, with EPOS Connect for firmware and audio preferences, on Windows, on Mac and in VDI environments. Across a whole fleet, EPOS Manager administers and updates the headsets remotely.
Is this EPOS Impact SC 660 ANC USB new and under warranty?
Yes, new in its original EPOS packaging, pouch and accessories included. Your invoice serves as the warranty document and covers 1 year on reference 1000650. The Impact 600 series manufacturer document details all the measurements.
