What is the SC 660 ANC's proximity sensor for?
For managing calls by gesture: picking up the headset answers the call, putting it down puts the call on hold. No more hunting for the “answer” button on screen when the phone rings while you are typing.
Can you switch active noise cancellation off whenever you like?
Yes, ANC switches on and off with a button on the headset. You turn it on to concentrate in the open-plan office and off to stay aware of the room, without going back through any software.

Where are the volume and microphone mute controls?
On the inline control unit built into the cable: volume, mute, answering and ending calls. One press also redials the last number dialled, without going back to the phone keypad.
Is your hearing protected against acoustic shocks?
Yes, by EPOS ActiveGard, which clips peaks before they reach your ear, and by an adjustable noise limiter compliant with European Directive 2003/10/EC on noise at work.
