1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

Frequently asked questions about this product

What does “Read Intensive” mean on this HPE SSD?
It is its endurance class: it is built for workloads where reading outweighs writing. That is the profile of cloud, Big Data and databases queried at scale — uses where data already written is constantly read back, rather than new data being produced continuously.
Can it be swapped without shutting down the server?
Yes, it is hot-pluggable. The drive can be removed and replaced while the machine is on, with no downtime window: that is what makes it possible to rebuild an array or expand an enclosure on infrastructure that must remain available at all times.
What do 65,000 read IOPS mean on a server?
They are the random accesses the drive handles every second. On a database or a hypervisor, they are what determine how many simultaneous requests are absorbed without latency — far more than sequential throughput, which is rarely called upon in this type of workload.
What do SFF and BC stand for in this drive's part number?
SFF refers to the 2.5-inch form factor used in server drive bays; BC refers to the type of HPE carrier the drive is mounted on. Check part number P40496-B21 against the list of drives supported by your chassis: the carrier must match the server generation.
Is this 240 GB SSD suitable for hosting the server's operating system?
It is a common use for this capacity: the operating system and hypervisor write little and read a lot, which matches the drive's profile exactly. Its SATA 6 Gb/s interface and modest power consumption make it an efficient boot volume alongside larger data enclosures.
Is the drive new, and how long is the warranty?
It is new and covered for 1 year, with your invoice serving as the warranty document. It is a server enclosure drive, tested for continuous operation in a data centre: its endurance profile and mounting method are not those of a desktop model.
