An old PC

An SSD in the format of laptop hard drives, taking their place with no adapter or setting: 520 MB/s read, 3D NAND memory and the software to copy Windows from the old drive.

It takes the hard drive's place, as is

The SU680 measures 100.45 x 69.85 x 7 mm and weighs 47.5 g: the size of a laptop hard drive, which it replaces in its bay as well as in a desktop case. It connects over SATA III at 6 Gb/s and works on an older SATA II port at a reduced speed. With no moving parts, it makes no noise and withstands 1,500 G shocks.

Endurance grows with capacity

Speeds are the same across the range; what changes is the amount of data ADATA guarantees can be written over the drive's lifetime.

Windows moves without reinstalling

ADATA provides a migration utility that clones the system, software and files from the old drive to the SSD, and the SSD Toolbox suite that tracks its health. Under the hood, an SLC cache speeds up short writes and ECC error correction watches over the data.

Très bon SSD ADATA

Très bon SSD pour son prix. Installation facile et nette amélioration des performances par rapport à un disque HDD classique. Le démarrage de Windows et l’ouverture des programmes sont beaucoup plus rapides. Pour un PC bureautique, professionnel ou pour donner une seconde vie à un ancien ordinateur, c’est un très bon choix.

Is the ADATA SU680 SSD compatible with my laptop?
Yes, if your laptop takes a 2.5-inch SATA drive, the format of most older hard drives. The SU680 is 7 mm thick, the standard height of laptop bays, and it also works on a SATA II port at a reduced speed. A laptop fitted only with an M.2 slot cannot take it.
What gain can be expected by replacing a hard drive with the SU680?
A very clear gain at start-up and when opening software: the SU680 reads at up to 520 MB/s and writes at up to 450 MB/s, with up to 40,000 IOPS in random reads, far beyond what the spinning platters of a mechanical hard drive allow. With no moving parts, it is also silent and withstands shocks better.
What endurance does the ADATA Ultimate SU680 SSD offer?
It depends on capacity: 140 TB written for the 240 GB and 256 GB versions, 280 TB for the 512 GB and 600 TB for the 1 TB. At 30 GB written every day, a heavy office use, the 512 GB version would last more than twenty years before reaching its rated limit.
How do you move Windows from the old drive to the SU680?
ADATA provides a migration utility that clones the system and data from the old drive to the SSD, as well as the SSD Toolbox suite to monitor its health. A USB-to-SATA adapter or enclosure is needed to connect the SU680 during the copy on a laptop with a single bay.
Is the SU680 reliable over time?
ADATA states an MTBF of 2 million hours, shock resistance of 1,500 G and ECC error correction. Its 3D NAND memory is more durable than older planar NAND, and an SLC cache speeds up short writes. It operates between 0 °C and 70 °C.
Which SU680 capacity should you choose?
The 240 GB or 256 GB is enough for Windows and office work; the 512 GB also holds photos, light games and software; the 1 TB replaces a full data drive. Sequential read and write speeds are identical, only endurance increases with capacity.
