What does “M.2 2280” mean, and how do I know if my PC accepts it?
They are the module's dimensions: 22 mm wide by 80 mm long, the most widespread form factor on desktop motherboards and recent laptops. Locate the machine's M.2 slot and its screw mounting point: if it sits 80 mm from the connector, the module is the right length.
How thick is this module, and does it fit in a thin laptop?
Only 2.45 mm, for 6 g. That is flat enough to slip under the cover of an ultrabook, where a module topped with a heatsink would not fit. This thickness stays the same from the 512 GB capacity up to the 4 TB model in the series, with only the 8 TB version being slightly heavier, at 7.6 g.
What speeds does the NM790 claim in its 512 GB version?
