Is the module single-sided?
Yes, the NV3 in the 2280 form factor has a single-sided design. Nothing protrudes on the underside of the board, which opens up the tightest M.2 slots in thin laptops and small form factor PCs, where a double-sided module does not have room to fit.
What speeds can you expect from the 500 GB version of the NV3?
5,000 MB/s read and 3,000 MB/s write. These are the figures specific to this capacity: the 6,000/5,000 MB/s highlighted for the series apply to the 2 TB models and above. In a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, that is already far above what a SATA SSD can reach.
How many terabytes of writes can this 500 GB drive handle?
160 TB, or more than three hundred complete fills of the drive. The stated mean time between failures is 2,000,000 hours. This endurance can be tracked as a percentage used in the Kingston SSD Manager application, which starts from zero on a new drive.
How thick is this module?
2.3 mm and 7 g, at 22 by 80 mm. It is one of the flattest profiles in the M.2 2280 form factor, which makes installation easier in a thin laptop or a compact case where the clearance above the slot is kept to a minimum.
