Frequently asked questions about this product

Can you change the EQ from the cable?
Yes, which is rare on wired earphones: the three-button remote gives access to three presets — Default, Bass and Vocal. You switch from a music profile to a podcast profile with one press, without an app.
Do they need charging or pairing?
Neither. These earphones are wired: no battery to keep an eye on, no pairing to redo. They work as soon as they are plugged in, which makes them an ideal backup alongside wireless earbuds.
Do they work with a games console?
They are stated to be compatible with PC, mobile and console thanks to their USB-C connection. As with any USB-C earphones, it is still worth checking that your device's port supports audio output.
What does the Hi-Res certification mean on this model?
It relates to the precision and range of the sound reproduction: high-resolution audio aims for clear, detailed sound over a wide frequency range, beyond what an ordinary compressed file requires. It is a requirement across the whole chain, from the file to the earphone.
Does the flat cable prevent tangles?
That is exactly what it is for: a flat cable does not coil up on itself like a round one, and so does not tangle at the bottom of a bag. It is a detail that often determines how long wired earphones actually last, since failures almost always come from the cable.
Is there active noise cancellation?
No. The attenuation comes solely from the in-ear design and the ear tip, which seals the ear canal. This passive isolation works as soon as they are plugged in and with no battery, but depends on choosing the right size from the three supplied.
Can you answer a call with the Tune 310C?
Yes: a mic is built into the three-button remote, which also controls playback and volume. You pick up on the go without taking out your phone, whether you are on a computer or a mobile.
Are these JBL earphones new and under warranty?
