Does the HP LaserJet Enterprise M430f have Wi-Fi?
Not out of the box, but it can be added: the HP Jetdirect 3100w accessory (3JN69A) brings dual-band wireless, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth Low Energy and NFC “touch-to-print”. As standard, the machine connects via Gigabit Ethernet or Hi-Speed USB 2.0.
Which toner comes with the HP LaserJet Enterprise M430f?
The machine ships with a genuine HP toner rated at 3,000 pages (59A, CF259A). The high-yield 59X version (CF259X) lasts 10,000 pages, more than three times as much: that is the one to go for from the very first replacement in an office with sustained volumes.
38 or 40 pages per minute: what is the M430f's real speed?
38 pages per minute by default, and up to 40 with HP High Speed mode enabled. In duplex, allow for 31 images per minute. The first page comes out in 6.5 seconds from ready and in 8.8 seconds from sleep: copying starts almost instantly.
Does the M430f's document feeder scan both sides in a single pass?
Yes. The 50-sheet feeder captures front and back in a single pass, at 46 images per minute in monochrome and 35 in colour. It accepts originals from 50 to 120 g/m², in sizes from 127 × 178 mm up to 216 × 356 mm.
Where can the M430f send a scan?
To e-mail via SMTP over SSL, a network folder, a USB flash drive, SharePoint, an FTP server or an Internet fax — all as standard. The control panel adds blank page removal, automatic content cropping, automatic colour detection and compact PDF output.
What does the M430f's “Enterprise” security bring?
The BIOS is checked at every start-up and repairs itself if it has been tampered with (HP Sure Start), a TPM module protects keys and passwords, whitelisting only allows known code to run, and HP Connection Inspector inspects outgoing connections to block suspicious requests. A security lock slot is provided.
Can a confidential document be held on the M430f?
Yes, PIN printing and pull printing hold the job until you are standing at the machine. It handles up to 1,000 user PIN codes, Kerberos and LDAP authentication, and accepts badge readers, including a proximity reader and an optional Legic secure reader.
How many sheets can the M430f hold?
350 sheets as standard: a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray 1 and a 250-sheet second tray, plus the 50-sheet feeder for originals. An optional 550-sheet third tray (D9P29A) brings input to 900 sheets. Output remains limited to 150 sheets.
Can you print on envelopes with the M430f?
Yes, through tray 1, which takes up to 10 envelopes (B5, ISO C5, C6, ISO DL) and goes up to 175 g/m², compared with 60-120 g/m² for tray 2 and the optional tray. Custom sizes range from 76 × 127 to 216 × 356 mm, labels and heavy paper included.
What monthly volume can the M430f handle?
The recommended volume is 900 to 4,800 pages per month, for a maximum duty cycle of 100,000 pages — twice that of many A4 multifunction printers. The recommended scanning range is the same. It is this range, not the ceiling, that should guide sizing.
Is the HP LaserJet Enterprise M430f's display a touchscreen?
Yes, it is a 10.9 cm colour capacitive touch panel (4.3 inches), customisable, with tablet-style icons. An easy-access USB port sits next to it, for printing or scanning without a computer, and the HP FutureSmart firmware can be updated to add features.
Will the M430f fit on a desk?
Yes: 420 × 390 × 323 mm and just 13 kg, with covers closed, even though it combines four functions and prints at 38 pages per minute. Allow for 453 × 839 × 577 mm with the device fully open, and a room between 15 and 32.5 °C, at 10 to 90% humidity.
How much power does the M430f use, and is it noisy?
525 W when actively printing, 10.1 W when ready and 1.2 W in sleep mode. Sound pressure reaches 54 dB(A) at 38 pages per minute. The device is ENERGY STAR certified, EPEAT Silver and Blue Angel DE-UZ 205 compliant — the latter label being guaranteed only with genuine HP supplies.
What warranty and support cover the HP LaserJet Enterprise M430f?
