How long is the warranty on the Epson EB-L730U?
Three years, on new equipment for which the invoice serves as the warranty document. For a laser projector meant to stay installed on a room's ceiling for several years, this period is a selection criterion at least as important as brightness.
What do the EB-L730U's 7,000 lumens let you do?
Project without switching off the lights, in a lecture theatre, a lobby or a shop window. The figure drops to 4,900 lumens in Eco mode, and the contrast ratio exceeds 2,500,000:1, which preserves the dark areas of a very bright image.
How do you position the EB-L730U's image without moving the unit?
With the manual lens shift, which moves the image optically by ± 50% vertically and ± 20% horizontally, and with the 1.6× optical zoom. Unlike keystone correction, this shift does not distort the pixels: the image stays sharp across its entire surface.
How much throw distance does the EB-L730U need in a large room?
From 1.4 m to 14.8 m at the widest setting, up to 23.8 m at the telephoto setting, for images from 50 to 500 inches. The throw ratio ranges from 1.35 to 2.20:1: the distance to the wall is 1.35 to 2.20 times the width of the image you want.
Can several EB-L730U units cover an entire wall?
Yes. Edge blending merges the join between the images of several units so that they form a single one, and the daisy-chained multi-projection function synchronises them. Arc correction also compensates for a curved surface.
Can the EB-L730U be positioned at any angle?
Yes, 360-degree installation is supported: ceiling, floor, tilted or vertical. It also supports an ultra-wide 16:6 format, which uses the full width of a wall with no black bars.
Do you need a computer to play content on the EB-L730U?
No. The built-in media player and the JPEG image viewer display content from a USB flash drive, and 5 GHz Wi-Fi with Miracast streams from a laptop or a mobile device. A scheduling function programmes power-on and power-off.
What does the EB-L730U's HDBaseT port let you do?
Place the source at a distance over a simple network cable, carrying both the image and control, when the control room is far from the projector. A 4K signal is accepted as input, and an HDMI output lets you send the image on to a second device.
What maintenance does the EB-L730U require?
No lamp to replace: the laser source is rated for 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 hours in Eco mode. On a unit suspended high up, this removes the heaviest operating constraint.
Is the EB-L730U noisy in operation?
38 dB(A) in normal mode and 27 dB(A) in Eco mode, for 8.4 kg and 440 × 339 × 136 mm. In a large room where the unit is far from the audience, normal mode goes unnoticed; in a closed meeting room, Eco mode is preferable.
What is in the EB-L730U box?
The unit, a cable cover, the power cable, the remote control and its batteries, the user guide and the warranty documents. You will need the HDMI cable or the HDBaseT installation suited to your control room, as well as the mounting bracket.
Is the EB-L730U laser projector new?
Yes, new equipment, with a three-year warranty, the invoice serving as the warranty document. Quote the part number V11HA25040 for any accessory: the EB-L series includes models with very similar names but different brightness levels, from 5,200 to 7,300 lumens.
