Is Wi-Fi built into the Epson EB-L520U?
No, it is optional, as is Miracast screen sharing: both require the 5 GHz wireless LAN module to be added. For wired connections, the unit has an Ethernet 100 Mbps port (100 Base-TX / 10 Base-T), intended for controlling and managing the projector over the network.
What does the EB-L520U's HDBaseT port let you do?
Place the source at a distance over a simple network cable, carrying both the image and control: the control room or control desk can stay at the far end of the room without running a video cable. Two HDMI inputs and two VGA inputs complete the connectivity.
Does the EB-L520U need a replacement lamp?
No, its light source is a laser, rated for 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 hours in Eco mode. On a 7.7 kg unit installed high up in an auditorium, this removes the heaviest maintenance constraint.
What image size can the EB-L520U cover?
From 50 to 500 inches, with a throw ratio of 1.35 to 2.20:1: the distance to the wall is 1.35 to 2.20 times the width of the image you want. At its native WUXGA resolution of 1,920 × 1,200, the image stays sharp even on very large diagonals.
Does the EB-L520U hold up in a very brightly lit room?
5,200 lumens, and 3,640 lumens in Eco mode, with a contrast ratio of 2,500,000:1. At this level, you can keep the lights on in a lecture theatre or a lobby: this is what sets an installation projector apart from a meeting-room model.
How does the EB-L520U's WUXGA resolution compare with Full HD?
120 more lines: 1,920 × 1,200 in 16:10 format, versus 1,920 × 1,080 in 16:9. On a spreadsheet, a plan or a projected document, this extra height saves scrolling and keeps the toolbar visible.
Is the EB-L520U's sound enough for a large room?
Its built-in speaker delivers 10 W: enough to accompany a video, not to fill an auditorium with sound. An output jack is provided to connect to the room's PA system, and two audio inputs accompany the VGA sources.
Is the EB-L520U laser projector new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, the invoice serving as the warranty document. Make sure you have a mount rated for its 7.7 kg and quote the part number V11HA30040 for any accessory: the EB-L series includes several models with similar names.
