Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the GWN7703 require any configuration?
No: it is ready to use, with no interface or settings. Auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX take care of everything: you connect twenty-four computers and the network works.
Where can this 24-port switch be installed?
On a desk or in a 19-inch rack, in a metal casing. It is a non-PoE model: its power consumption stays low, at 13 W on 220 V, which limits heat build-up in a closed cabinet.
What internal performance does this 24-port model offer?
48 Gbps of switching capacity and an 8,000-entry MAC address table, with jumbo frames of up to 10 KB. All twenty-four Gigabit ports can work together without getting in each other's way.
Is this switch suitable for transferring large files?
Yes: support for jumbo frames of up to 10 KB reduces the number of packets during large copies to a server or NAS, provided the network cards are set to the same size.
Does this switch make any noise in an office?
Its power consumption of 13 W for twenty-four Gigabit ports allows quiet cooling, and the metal casing helps dissipate heat. It is a supplementary switch designed for an office or a small business, not for a server room.
Is the switch new, and where can I see its datasheet?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The manufacturer's document compares the GWN7703 with the other models in the series, including their dimensions and power consumption: datasheet (PDF).
