Grandstream GWN7700P unmanaged Gigabit switch: 5 Gigabit ports, 4 of them PoE+, to power IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points or IP phones straight through the network cable — all in a compact casing, with no configuration at all.
PoE: the 4 Gigabit RJ45 ports comply with IEEE 802.3af/at and deliver up to 30 W per port within a total 60 W PoE budget — enough to power up to four security cameras or Wi-Fi access points without calling in an electrician. The 5th Gigabit port is the uplink to your router or main switch.
Form factor: rugged metal casing (145 × 80 × 27 mm) that sits on a desk or mounts on a wall — discreet and perfect for tight spaces.

How many of the GWN7700P's ports are PoE-powered?
Four out of five. Ports 1 to 4 deliver 802.3af/at-compliant PoE+ at up to 30 W each, within a total budget of 60 W. The fifth port powers nothing: it serves as the uplink to the router or main switch.
What happens if the four cameras exceed 60 W?
In the event of an overload, the switch cuts power to the lowest-priority port, working down from port 4 to port 1. So connect the most critical device — the camera you can never afford to lose — to port 1, and the least important one to port 4.
Does this switch require any configuration before use?
No: it is an unmanaged model, with no interface or app. You plug it in and it works, with auto-negotiation detecting each device's speed on its own and auto MDI/MDIX correcting the pinout, whether the cable is straight-through or crossover.
How is the GWN7700P powered, and how much power does it use?
By an external 48–53.5 V, 1.22 A power adapter: make sure there is a power outlet nearby and room for the adapter. The switch itself uses only 2 W, excluding the PoE power delivered to connected devices.
Is the casing suitable for installation in a technical room?
Yes, the chassis is metal, unlike the non-PoE GWN7700, which is plastic. It sits on a desk or mounts on a wall, measures 145 × 80 × 27 mm, weighs around 260 grams and operates from 0 to 40 °C without a fan.
Does this small switch handle video traffic properly?
Yes: IGMP snooping, with fast leave and automatic router port learning, sends multicast streams only to the ports that request them. 802.1p/DSCP prioritisation puts voice and video first, and jumbo frames go up to 9 KB.
What internal performance does this 5-port model offer?
10 Gbps of switching capacity and a 2,000-entry MAC address table, with automatic address learning and ageing. 802.3x flow control limits packet loss if a port is saturated — enough to handle four cameras and an uplink without congestion.
