What difference do the Epson EB-L790U's 7,300 lumens make in an auditorium?
They let you keep the room lit: at this brightness level, the image holds up on a large screen without turning off the lights, including for an audience taking notes. In eco mode, the figure drops to 5,110 lumens, which is still comfortable in a conference room.
How can several EB-L790U projectors be set up quickly?
Via NFC: you hold the phone up to the projector and the Epson Projector Config Tool app transfers the settings to it, without navigating through the menus. Across a fleet of several projectors, deployment is done one unit after another in this way, then control moves over to the network.
Can the EB-L790U be managed centrally?
Yes, it is compatible with Crestron XiO Cloud, in addition to its Ethernet port, its RS-232C port and its Wi-Fi connection. An IT department can therefore monitor and control several rooms from a single console.
What throw distance and image size does the EB-L790U offer?
From 50 to 500 inches, with a throw ratio of 1.35 to 2.20:1: the distance to the wall is 1.35 to 2.20 times the image width. The 1.6× optical zoom and manual lens shift — ± 50% vertical, ± 20% horizontal — let you position the image without moving the projector.
What maintenance does the EB-L790U need over time?
No consumables: its laser light source is rated for 20,000 hours, and 30,000 hours in eco mode. Its “Fit-and-Forget” laser technology points the same way: once the projector is installed up high, there is no lamp or filter to go and change regularly.
Is the EB-L790U quiet in operation?
34 dB(A) in normal mode, 25 dB(A) in eco mode, for 8.2 kg and 440 × 340 × 138 mm. That is low for a 7,300-lumen projector: in an auditorium, the fan noise does not drown out the speaker's voice.
Which sources can be connected to the EB-L790U?
Two HDCP 2.3-compatible HDMI inputs and an HDBaseT port, which carries the image and control signals over a single network cable. An HDMI output lets you daisy-chain a second projector, and Miracast screen mirroring streams from a laptop without a cable.
Is the EB-L790U projector new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. Its built-in 10 W speaker will do for speech at a pinch, but an installation of this size in practice relies on the room's sound system, via the audio jack output. Reference: V11HB28080.
