Grandstream GWN7700MP Multi-Gigabit PoE unmanaged switch: 5 2.5 Gbps ports including 4 PoE/PoE+ ports, and 1 10 Gbps SFP+ port for fibre — power cameras, Wi-Fi 6/6E access points and IP phones without a mains socket and without configuration.
PoE: the first 4 ports (IEEE 802.3af/at) deliver up to 30 W each, for a 57 W total budget; the lowest-priority ports are shut off automatically in the event of an overload.
Ports: 5 RJ45 ports at 100/1000/2,500 Mbps, plus 1 SFP+ for a fibre link at 1 or 10 Gbps; auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX on every port.

Four PoE ports at 30 W: does that mean 120 W is available?
No. Each port can deliver up to 30 W, but the switch's overall budget is 57 W, shared between the four. If it is overloaded, it cuts power to the lowest-priority port, with priority running from port 4 to port 1.
Which devices can I power over the network cable?
Any equipment compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at: IP phones, IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points and other PoE devices, up to 30 W per port. It is ports 1 to 4 that supply power; the fifth RJ45 port is non-PoE, as is the fibre port.
Does it need to be configured before use?
No: it is an unmanaged switch that requires no configuration or installation. It works as soon as it is powered on, with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX on all ports, which removes the need for crossover cables. It still includes 802.1p/DSCP QoS, IGMP snooping and storm control.
Are the SFP+ module and network cables in the box?
The package contains the switch, its power adapter and the quick installation guide: the SFP+ optical module and the RJ45 patch cables must be obtained separately. The fibre port then accepts a 1 or 10 Gbps uplink.
Is the power supply internal, and can any power adapter be used?
The adapter is external and specific: 53.5 V / 1.22 A, compared with 12 V on the non-PoE models in the same series. Keep the one supplied with the switch.
How much power does it draw when left plugged in permanently?
7.2 W maximum for the base system, excluding the power delivered to PoE devices. It supports IEEE 802.3az (Energy Efficient Ethernet), a green technology that reduces power consumption.
Is it noisy, and where can it be installed?
It is fanless, and therefore silent, in a metal case measuring 145 × 80 × 27 mm. It can sit on a desk or be mounted on the wall, which makes it acceptable in a busy office as well as in a small equipment room.
Can it stay in a comms room without air conditioning?
It operates from 0 to 40 °C, at 10 to 90% humidity (non-condensing), and can be stored from -20 to 60 °C. Above 40 °C it is outside its operating range: choose a well-ventilated location.
Is it suitable for a NAS and large file transfers?
Yes: 45 Gbps switching capacity, a 4K self-learning MAC address table, support for 9 KB jumbo frames and IEEE 802.3x flow control. The five copper ports negotiate 100/1000/2,500 Mbps, and the SFP+ port provides a fibre uplink of up to 10 Gbps.
Is it suitable for a CCTV camera network?
Yes: four ports power the cameras over PoE, and IGMP snooping, with Fast-Leave and automatic router port learning, handles multicast streams. Storm control, fixed at 100 Mbps, monitors broadcast, multicast and unicast traffic levels.
Is the switch new, and how long is the warranty?
It is new and sealed, with a 3-year warranty; your invoice serves as proof. It is FCC, CE, RCM and IC compliant; details of the ports, standards and PoE budgets are given in the manufacturer's datasheet (PDF).
