Frequently asked questions about this product

Can the TL-SG1016D be configured?
No: it is an unmanaged switch. All sixteen ports feature auto MDI/MDIX and auto-negotiation: you plug in, and the switch adapts to the cable as well as to the speed of each device.
Is this 16-port switch noisy?
Not at all: it is fanless. The case measures 294 × 180 × 44 mm, sits on a shelf or mounts in a rack, and draws 9.26 W at most at 220 V/50 Hz.
What internal performance does this model offer?
32 Gbps switching capacity, in a non-blocking architecture, with an 8,000-entry MAC address table and jumbo frames up to 10 KB. All sixteen Gigabit ports can therefore work at once without getting in each other's way.
How does the switch prevent traffic congestion?
With 802.3x flow control in full duplex and backpressure in half duplex: it asks the sender to slow down rather than dropping packets. Green technology also adjusts power consumption to link status and cable length.
How is this switch powered?
By a built-in power supply accepting 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz: a simple power cord is all it takes, with no external adapter to find room for. That is a real advantage in a rack, where adapters always end up getting in the way.
Is the switch new, and where can I view its datasheet?
