TP-Link TL-SF1016 rackmount switch: 16 Fast Ethernet 10/100 Mbit/s ports in a 1U form factor to centralise the wired connections of an office or network room with no configuration at all.
Ports: 16 copper RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s ports with Auto-MDI/MDIX — no crossover cable needed. The 1U 19" rackmount form factor fits neatly into an existing network cabinet; a rack-mounting kit is included.
Plug-and-play: an unmanaged switch that works as soon as it is connected, with no settings and no software. Suited to small and medium-sized businesses that want to organise their cabling in a rack.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Are the TL-SF1016's 16 ports Gigabit?
No: they are Fast Ethernet 10/100 Mbps. This is an affordable patching switch for workstations, printers and terminals that do not need Gigabit. For heavy transfers or video, a Gigabit model is the right choice.
Does the TL-SF1016 need configuring, and does it supply PoE?
No on both counts: it is unmanaged and supplies no power. No VLANs, no management interface, nothing to set up — you mount it, patch it and it switches. Cameras and Wi-Fi access points must be powered some other way.
Is the rack-mount kit included?
Yes, the 19-inch rack-mount kit is included. The case takes up 1U and measures 440 × 180 × 44 mm: at 18 cm deep, it also fits in a shallow wall-mounted patch cabinet.
What performance does this switch offer?
3.2 Gbps switching capacity, with an 8,000-entry MAC address table and a 2 MB buffer — more than enough to handle sixteen active ports at once on one floor.
Do I need crossover cables between two switches?
No: Auto MDI/MDIX corrects the crossover automatically. An ordinary straight-through cable is enough to connect this switch to another switch, a router or a computer: the port adapts itself.
How much power does the TL-SF1016 add?
2.23 W maximum, on a universal 100-240 V, 50-60 Hz power supply. This minimal consumption gives off little heat: the switch copes easily in a closed, poorly ventilated cabinet.
What temperature range does this switch operate in?
From 0 to 40 °C, with 10 to 90% relative humidity in operation. Storage is rated from -40 to 70 °C: just avoid installing it in a cabinet exposed to the sun or next to a heat source.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The TL-SF1016 comes with its power cord and rack-mount kit, and carries FCC and CE certifications.
