Do the JBL Wave Flex block the ear?
No: the stem design sits at the entrance to the ear without sealing it. You stay aware of what is going on around you — a safety point outdoors, and a comfort for anyone who finds in-ear tips tiring.
How long do they last?
Up to 8 h of playback from the earbuds alone and 32 h in total with the case. For calls, allow 4.5 h. And 10 minutes of charging gives you 2 h of playback before you head out.
Can you wear them from the beach to the cycle path?
Yes: they are rated IP54, resistant to water and dust. The 5 covers dust ingress, the 4 water splashes from any direction — enough to cope with sand as well as a downpour.
Can you adjust the volume of your own voice during a call?
Yes, with VoiceAware: during a stereo hands-free call, you balance how loud your own voice sounds in your earbuds. It keeps you from talking too loudly without realising it.
Can you talk to someone without taking them out?
Yes, with TalkThru, designed for exactly that. Ambient Aware mode meets a different need: keeping the music playing while staying aware of your surroundings.
How good are the 12 mm drivers?
12 mm is a generous diameter for an earbud: a larger diaphragm moves more air, which gives the bass more body — hence the JBL Deep Bass sound signature, a good match for a design that does not seal the ear canal.
Are they light to wear?
3.8 g per earbud — among the lightest in their category. At this weight, and with no tip pushed into the ear canal, you forget they are there during long listening sessions, at the office or on the move.
Are these JBL earbuds new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. Full specifications are given in the manufacturer's datasheet.
Connected to two devices at once, they move from the phone to the computer without re-pairing. The open design places the sound at the entrance to the ear without blocking it, with up to 25 h of stated battery life.
