How long do the black JBL Wave Buds last?
Up to 8 h of listening in the earbuds and 32 h in total with the charging case. A full charge takes less than 2 h, and 10 minutes is enough to get 2 h of listening before you head out.
Are they light enough to wear for long periods?
4.5 g per earbud: at that weight, you end up forgetting them. Three sizes of ear tips are supplied to adjust the fit, which determines both comfort over time and how much outside noise stays out.
Can you wear them in the rain or while training?
Yes, the earbuds are certified IP54 against water and dust: the 5 covers dust ingress, the 4 splashing water from any direction. A shower of rain or a workout won't bother them.
Can you talk to someone without taking the earbuds out?
Yes, with TalkThru, designed for exactly that. Ambient Aware mode meets a different need: staying aware of your surroundings — traffic, an announcement — without interrupting the music.
Can you adjust the volume of your own voice during calls?
Yes, thanks to VoiceAware: you choose how much of the microphone signal is fed back into your earbuds. Calls are taken in stereo and hands-free, with no need to remove an earbud to hear yourself speak.
How good are the 8 mm drivers?
A compact diameter, backed by a sensitivity of 100 dB at 1 kHz at 16 ohms, with a response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The in-ear design reinforces the bass by sealing the ear canal: the ear tip does half the work.
How do you control the music?
With touch controls on the earbuds, without taking out your phone. The JBL Headphones app then lets you adjust the sound and how these gestures behave, but it is not needed to listen.
Are these JBL earbuds new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. The case charges via USB-C. Full details are given in the manufacturer's datasheet.
Connected to two devices at once, they move from the phone to the computer without re-pairing. The open design places the sound at the entrance to the ear without blocking it, with up to 25 h of stated battery life.
