How long do the JBL Wave Buds last?
Up to 8 h of playback in the earbuds and 32 h in total with the case. For calls, allow 4.5 h. And 10 minutes of charging gives you 2 h of playback; a full charge takes less than 2 h.
What is in the box?
The earbuds, the charging case, a USB Type-C charging cable, three ear tip sizes, the warranty booklet and the quick start guide. As the cable is included, nothing else is needed.
Do these earbuds block out outside noise?
The in-ear design reduces outside noise and at the same time reinforces the bass: what does not get into the ear canal cannot mask the music. It is passive isolation, which depends entirely on choosing the right ear tip from the three supplied.
Can you hear what is around you without taking them out?
Yes, with two modes: Ambient Aware to stay aware of your surroundings, and TalkThru to exchange a few words without removing anything from your ears. Two features that save you interrupting your listening every time someone speaks to you.
Can you adjust your own voice during a call?
Yes, with VoiceAware: you choose how much of the signal picked up by the mic comes back into your earbuds. It keeps you from talking too loudly when you cannot hear yourself — a common reflex with earbuds that block out sound.
Can you wear them in the rain?
Yes, the earbuds are IP54-certified against water and dust. The 5 covers dust ingress, the 4 water splashes from any direction: a downpour or a workout will not bother them.
How good are the 8 mm drivers?
A compact diameter, offset by a sensitivity of 100 dB at 1 kHz at 16 ohms, with a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and a maximum sound pressure level of 95 dB. The in-ear design does the rest by reinforcing the bass.
Can you adjust the sound to your taste?
Yes, in the dedicated JBL Headphones app, which lets you adjust the sound and how the touch controls behave. The earbuds can be used without it: the app is for customising, not for making them work.
Are these JBL earbuds new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. Full specifications are given in the manufacturer's datasheet.
