How far from the screen does the Epson EB-760W sit?
Very close: its ultra-short throw ratio ranges from 0.27 to 0.37:1, i.e. a distance to the wall of about a third of the image width. Mounted just above the projection surface, it eliminates the presenter's shadow and glare.
Is the wall mount supplied with the EB-760W?
No: the box contains the unit, its feet, the power cable, the remote control and its batteries, the guide and the warranty document. The ELPMB62 ultra-short-throw wall mount, designed for this model, must be ordered separately depending on the chosen installation method.
What image size can the EB-760W display?
From 60 to 150 inches, at WXGA 1,280 × 800 resolution in 16:10 format. This diagonal exceeds that of the interactive ultra-short-throw models in our catalogue, which top out at 100 inches: it suits a deep classroom, where the back of the room must still be able to read the screen.
Does the EB-760W need a replacement lamp?
No, its light source is a laser, rated for 20,000 hours in normal mode and 30,000 hours in Eco mode. On a unit mounted high above a board, this removes the most demanding operating task.
Is the EB-760W bright enough for a lit classroom?
4,100 lumens of white and colour brightness, 2,800 lumens in Eco mode, with a contrast ratio of over 5,000,000:1. 3LCD technology handles the three colours on three separate panels: the board stays readable with the blinds open.
How many sources can you connect to the EB-760W?
Three HDMI inputs, two VGA inputs with one VGA output, a composite input and two USB Type-A ports. Enough to keep the room's computer, a document camera and a streaming device permanently connected.
Can students project from their own device onto the EB-760W?
Yes, via the built-in Wi-Fi and Miracast, or via the wired network through its Ethernet port. Everyone can share their screen from a computer or mobile device, with no cable to pass around the room.
Does the EB-760W accept a microphone for the teacher?
Yes, a microphone input is provided and the built-in speaker delivers 16 W: the voice is amplified by the projector itself. Three audio inputs and an output jack complete the setup, to connect to the room's PA system if needed.
Does installing the EB-760W require precise alignment?
Yes: its keystone correction is limited to ± 3°, as on any ultra-short-throw projector, and its zoom is digital, with a factor of 1 to 1.35. The unit must therefore be placed squarely in front of the board from the moment it is mounted, which needs to be prepared before the installation.
How much power does the EB-760W use, and how noisy is it?
197 W in normal use, 141 W in Eco mode and 0.5 W in standby, with 37 dB(A) in normal mode and 27 dB(A) in Eco mode. Its heat dissipation reaches 895 BTU per hour, the figure to remember when sizing the air conditioning of a closed room.
Can the EB-760W be installed on the ceiling rather than on the wall?
Yes, all three positions are supported: wall mounting, ceiling mounting or placement on a table with the supplied feet. Allow for 5.9 kg and 356 × 395 × 133 mm, and a mount rated accordingly if the unit is suspended.
Is the EB-760W laser projector new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, the invoice serving as the warranty document. The part number of this version is V11HA81080: it distinguishes this non-interactive model from the pen-based versions in the same series, whose names differ by just one letter.
