What power supply does the RG-RAP6262(G) need?
A PoE+ 802.3at port: its power draw reaches 18 W, more than a standard PoE port can deliver. Local power at 12 V / 1.5 A is possible through its DC port, but the adapter is not included.
What does this outdoor access point's IP68 rating protect against?
It is the highest level of the standard: fully dust-tight and protected against immersion. On top of that come 4 kV surge protection on the ports and an operating range of -30 to +65 °C, with humidity of up to 100% non-condensing.
How far does the RG-RAP6262(G)'s signal reach?
The advertised range is about 300 m on the 5 GHz band and 100 m on 2.4 GHz, with internal omnidirectional antennas. These values assume open ground: trees, walls and vehicles reduce them considerably.
How many devices does this access point support?
512 at most, with 100 recommended. It is this second figure that should be used to size a schoolyard, a park or a car park: it corresponds to the number of devices served in good conditions.
What is in the RG-RAP6262(G) box?
The access point, its manual, two cable ties, a mounting plate, four M8×60 wall anchors, two M8×20 screws, two pre-fitted cable glands, a pre-installed connecting rod and the warranty card. Everything needed for pole mounting is therefore included.
How is this access point mounted at height?
Its mounting bracket is separate from the housing: you first fix the bracket to the pole or wall, then hook the access point onto it — a much safer operation at height. Allow 200 × 220 × 166 mm for about 1.2 kg, bracket not included.
What is the RG-RAP6262(G)'s second Ethernet port for?
Both ports run at 10/100/1000 Mbps: the first receives the network uplink and PoE, the second serves a nearby wired device. Outdoors, this avoids running another cable back to the equipment room to connect a device installed on the same pole.
Does the RG-RAP6262(G) support WPA3?
Yes, it supports WPA3-SAE and 802.1X authentication, in addition to the traditional WPA2 modes. This is a point to check on an outdoor network open to the public, where session encryption matters as much as the password.
Can user bandwidth be limited on an outdoor hotspot?
Yes: the access point has a built-in captive portal, bandwidth limiting and quality-of-service rules. Up to 8 Wi-Fi networks can coexist, which makes it possible to separate public access from a staff network.
Does the connection hold when moving between several access points?
Yes: roaming relies on 802.11k, 802.11v and 802.11r, complemented by cloud algorithm-assisted roaming. The device switches to the next access point without re-authenticating and without dropping the session.
Can outdoor coverage be extended without new cabling?
Yes, with Reyee Mesh: an additional access point connects to the network wirelessly, which avoids digging a trench across a park or a courtyard. It must still have its own PoE power on site.
How do you manage an access point installed at the top of a pole?
Without climbing up to it: configuration is done through the Reyee cloud, the mobile app, the local web interface or SNMP. Updates, monitoring and radio optimisation are carried out remotely, which limits work at height.
Is the equipment new and covered by a warranty?
