What is the RG-RAP6260(G)'s SFP port for?
For connecting the access point over optical fibre rather than copper: in single-mode, the link reaches up to 20 km, whereas copper stops at 100 m. This is what makes it possible to cover a remote car park, a stadium or an isolated building without an intermediate relay.
How do you power the RG-RAP6260(G) if it is connected over fibre?
Through the Ethernet port using PoE, 802.3af or 802.3at, for 17 W at most: this is its only power option, and the PoE injector or switch must be ordered separately. Fibre carries data, never power.
What does this outdoor access point's IP68 rating protect against?
It is the highest level of the standard: fully dust-tight and protected against prolonged immersion. On top of that come 6,000 V surge protection, a V0-rated flame-retardant housing and a range of -40 to +65 °C.
How does the RG-RAP6260(G) resist interference from a mobile phone mast?
With a high-quality FBAR filter, which attenuates interference from nearby mobile phone base stations and Bluetooth devices. On a pole shared with an operator or near a tower, this is what keeps the signal stable.
How many devices does the RG-RAP6260(G) support?
512 at most, with 100 recommended. It is this second figure that should be used to size a car park or a courtyard: it corresponds to the number of devices served in good conditions, whereas the first is a theoretical ceiling.
How far does this outdoor access point's signal reach?
Up to 300 m in open space, with internal antennas rated at 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 6 dBi on 5 GHz and omnidirectional coverage. Walls, trees and vehicles considerably reduce this range: plan a site survey before finalising the layout.
How is the RG-RAP6260(G) mounted at height?
Its mounting bracket is separate from the housing: you first fix the bracket at height, then hook the access point onto it, which makes installation and later maintenance easier. Allow 298 × 298 × 65 mm and up to 1.35 kg, bracket not included.
What Wi-Fi encryption does this access point support?
WPA2 (AES), WPA (TKIP) and WPA-PSK, with pre-shared key authentication and static blacklists and whitelists. Each SSID gets its own authentication mode, encryption and VLAN.

Can an access point be added where neither cable nor fibre can reach?
Yes, with Reyee Mesh: the access points discover each other, organise themselves and optimise coverage on their own, without new cabling. The self-organising network also simplifies commissioning of the whole system — gateway, switch and access points.
Can the RG-RAP6260(G) act as a router on an isolated site?
Yes, it works in router mode as well as access point mode, with static IP address, DHCP client or PPPoE connection. A construction site or a remote site can therefore rely on it alone to bring in the connection.
How do you manage this access point when it is installed at height?
Without climbing up to it: configuration is done through a local web browser, the Ruijie Cloud app or the cloud platform, with automatic RF tuning and unified configuration and monitoring of all devices on the network.
