What is the RG-RAP6262's SFP port for?
For connecting the access point over optical fibre: in single-mode, the link reaches up to 20 km, whereas copper stops at 100 m. This is what makes it possible to cover an industrial zone, a tourist resort or an isolated building without an intermediate relay.
What power supply does the RG-RAP6262 need?
A PoE+ 802.3at port, as its power draw reaches 24 W. Local power at 12 V / 2 A is possible through its DC port, whose connector has an outer diameter of 5.5 mm. Fibre, for its part, never carries power.
What distance does this outdoor access point really cover?
The recommended range is 150 m on the 5 GHz band and 50 m on 2.4 GHz; the maximum range, measured in field tests, goes up to 300 m. Use the recommended values to size an installation, the maximum range being mainly useful for comparing models.
How many devices does the RG-RAP6262 support?

Are 160 MHz channels needed to reach 2,402 Mbps?
Yes. The 5 GHz band accepts 20, 40, 80 or 160 MHz channels, and it is at 160 MHz, with 1024-QAM modulation, that the maximum data rate is reached. The 2.4 GHz band is limited to 20 or 40 MHz.
What pole diameter can this access point be mounted on?

Through several settings: removal of devices with too weak a signal, a minimum signal threshold for association, load balancing between access points and a limit on the number of devices per radio. Disconnection logging then helps you understand what happened.
Can the RG-RAP6262 act as a router on an isolated site?
Yes: it handles PPPoE access, DHCP client, static IP address, VLANs and a built-in DHCP server. A construction site or an isolated area can therefore rely on it alone to bring in and distribute the connection.
