Does the Grandstream GWN7813 route between VLANs?
Yes, it is a Layer 3 switch. It supports static routing and dynamic routing with RIP, RIPng, OSPF and OSPFv3, over both IPv4 and IPv6: traffic between internal segments stays inside the switch.
What connectivity does this switch offer?
24 Gigabit RJ45 ports and 4 SFP+ ports at 10 Gbps. The four optical slots are used for uplinks to the network core or to servers, where a Gigabit link would become the bottleneck.
What performance does the GWN7813 deliver?
128 Gbps switching capacity and 95.2 Mpps, with 12 MB of buffer memory and a 16,000-entry MAC address table. The four 10 Gbps links can therefore all work together without any internal bottleneck.
How many links can be aggregated on this switch?
Fourteen aggregation groups, to widen an uplink and make it tolerant of a cable being cut. STP, RSTP and MSTP spanning trees also protect redundant topologies.
What security protections does this switch apply?
802.1X authentication with RADIUS or TACACS+, IP Source Guard, DHCP snooping, ARP inspection and storm control. An unknown workstation or a rogue DHCP server plugged into an outlet is therefore kept out.
Can this switch's power supply be made redundant?
Yes, an external redundant power supply is available as an option. On a core switch, it prevents a failed power unit from cutting off every connected workstation.
How is the GWN7813 managed day to day?
Through the local web interface, the command line or SNMP v1, v2c and v3. The fleet can also be managed from GWN.Cloud, or from GWN Manager installed on your own network.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The 19-inch rack-mount kits are included, and the GWN7813 documentation covers everything in detail.
