This product is covered for 3 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Do all 24 ports provide PoE?
No: 12 of the 24 ports supply PoE+, namely ports 1 to 12. The next twelve are standard Gigabit ports with no power. Plan your cabling accordingly: cameras, access points and IP phones on the first half of the panel, workstations and printers on the second.
How many devices can the 195 W PoE budget power?
It depends on their class. A Class 4 (802.3at) device draws up to 25.5 W from the 30 W supplied at the port; an 802.3af device (Classes 0 to 3) draws only 13 W from the 15.4 W supplied. The 195 W is shared across the 12 PoE ports, with the switch automatically allocating the power each port needs via LLDP.
Can you cut PoE power to the cameras outside office hours?
Yes. PoE scheduling sets the days and times when the switch powers connected devices — surveillance cameras, access points — for example during working hours only. Port scheduling completes the setup.
How do you access the interface if there is no DHCP server on the network?
The switch falls back to the static address 192.168.1.1. When a DHCP server is present, on the other hand, it connects Plug and Play, with no prior configuration. The local web interface accepts up to five sessions at once over HTTP/HTTPS, enough for several administrators to work at once.
Do you have to pay a licence or subscription for the Instant On app?
No. All features are included in the price of the equipment: no licence and no subscription fees, including for cloud management. Expert-level support is also included, with instant messaging assistance for the product's entire lifetime.
Can you route between several VLANs with this switch?
It is a Layer 2 switch: it segments the network into 802.1Q VLANs, prioritises traffic with QoS and supports 802.3ad LACP aggregation, MSTP/RSTP and IGMP snooping. Routing between VLANs, however, is still handled by your router or firewall.
How many devices can it handle without becoming saturated?
Its MAC address table holds 16,000 entries, and its 52 Gbps non-blocking switching capacity (38.68 Mpps) allows simultaneous full-speed traffic on all ports. The model is sized for medium-sized offices.
Do you need a network technician to install and troubleshoot it?
No. Configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting are done from the Aruba Instant On mobile app or the web interface, with guided instructions: no technical expertise is required. The topology view shows all the Instant On devices on the site, and the built-in Ping and Traceroute tests help locate a faulty link.
Can you manage it remotely, and is that access secure?
Yes: remote management of several sites and networks from the cloud-hosted web interface, with two-factor authentication and encrypted HTTPS sessions. Each site keeps its own configuration and has three administrator accounts, which can be locked to prevent accidental deletion.
What does it actually protect against intrusions?
It features Global Storm Control, TPM chip-based security, VLANs, automatic monitoring for denial-of-service attacks, IP and MAC address filtering, 802.1X/RADIUS access control, port security, loop protection and BPDU filtering.
What are the two 1G SFP fibre ports for?
They serve as 1 Gbps optical uplinks, for distances that copper cabling cannot cover — from one floor or building to another. They come in addition to the 24 RJ45 ports without using up any of them: the total number of available ports increases accordingly.
Is there any benefit in pairing it with Aruba Instant On access points?
Yes. The switch automatically detects Instant On access points and gives them critical PoE priority, ensuring uninterrupted power and Wi-Fi access. Voice traffic, both wired and wireless, is prioritised end to end by QoS.
Is this Aruba JL813A switch new and under warranty?
Yes: new and genuine equipment, reference JL813A, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 3 years. Full details of the features are in the datasheet (PDF).
