Do these Sony earphones need charging or pairing?
Neither. They have no battery and do not use Bluetooth: you plug in and the music starts. No risk of finding them flat at the wrong moment, and no battery to watch age over the years.
Which devices does the USB-C plug work with?
With a smartphone, tablet or computer compatible with USB Audio Class 1.0. It is the answer to the disappearance of the headphone jack: the connector plugs in directly, with no dongle or adapter to carry around as well.
What ear tip sizes are included?
Three silicone sizes: XS, M and XL. Take the time to try them — the ear tip determines fit and isolation, and therefore how much bass you will actually hear once you are out in the street.
Can you mute the mic during a call?

Does the cable tangle easily?
Its serrated finish is designed to reduce tangling, and a slider lets you adjust its length. You can shorten the part that hangs down when the phone is in a jacket pocket rather than at the bottom of a bag.
Is there active noise cancellation on this model?
No. The attenuation comes from the in-ear design and the silicone ear tip, which seals the ear canal. It is passive isolation: it uses no power and works as soon as they are plugged in, but depends on choosing the right size from the three supplied.
