Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the Wi-Fi module supplied with the Epson EB-2255U?
Yes, the wireless network unit is in the box, along with a VGA cable, the power cable, the remote control and its batteries, and the software and manual on CD. Wireless projection and Miracast can therefore be used straight out of the box, with no accessory to order.
Does the EB-2255U have to be placed squarely in front of the screen?
No: keystone correction is automatic on both axes, ± 30° vertically and ± 20° horizontally. You can offset the unit to the side to get around a table or a light fitting and get a straight image back without manual adjustment.
How much throw distance do you need for a large image with the EB-2255U?
About 1.5 m for a 50-inch image and 9 m for 300 inches. The throw ratio of 1.38 to 2.28:1 is simple to read: the distance to the wall equals 1.38 to 2.28 times the width of the image. The 1.6× optical zoom then adjusts the framing without moving the unit.
Can the EB-2255U join a fast company network?
Yes, it has a Gigabit Ethernet interface, in addition to 100 Mbps: monitoring, network projection and remote administration run over the cable without a bottleneck. Wi-Fi 5 and Miracast remain available alongside.
Can you change slides without a remote control on the EB-2255U?
Yes, with a wave of the hand in front of the lens thanks to the Gesture Presenter function. Handy when you present standing up, away from the computer. The built-in image viewer also lets you project a JPEG slideshow from a USB flash drive, without a computer.
How many computers can share the EB-2255U's screen?
Up to 50 connected computers via the multi-PC projection software, with a split screen that displays several sources at once. In a training room, you switch from one workstation to another without re-cabling anything.
Is the EB-2255U bright enough for a lecture hall?
5,000 lumens of white and colour brightness alike, 3,800 lumens in eco mode, with a 15,000:1 contrast ratio in WUXGA 1920 × 1200. This resolution offers 120 more lines than Full HD, which benefits projected tables and documents.
How long does the EB-2255U's lamp last?
5,000 hours in normal mode and 10,000 hours in eco mode, for a 300 W lamp. Power consumption is 405 W in operation, 323 W in eco mode and 0.5 W in standby.
Does the EB-2255U support 3D?
No, this model is not 3D-compatible. It is a meeting and training projector: its strengths are brightness, wireless connectivity and screen sharing, not three-dimensional images.
Is the EB-2255U noisy, and is it easy to move?
39 dB(A) in normal mode, 29 dB(A) in eco mode, for 4.7 kg and 377 × 291 × 110 mm. It can be placed on a table or mounted on the ceiling, with a 16 W speaker that saves you from adding a sound system in an average-sized room.
Is the EB-2255U projector new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The reference of this version is V11H815040: it distinguishes it from the EB-2250U, which has a very similar name but does not come with the Wi-Fi module.
