Does the EB-1780W really fit in a laptop bag?
Yes: 44 mm thick and 1.8 kg, with a footprint of 292 × 213 mm. It slips into a standard laptop bag, and a carrying case is supplied with the unit. It is the format designed for sales staff or trainers who present at their clients' premises.
What throw distance is needed for a 60-inch image with the EB-1780W?
Just 1.35 m to 1.62 m. Its short throw ratio, from 1.04 to 1.26:1, gives a large image from very close: participants can sit behind the projector instead of walking in front of it, and the front-facing vent directs heat away from the audience.
Can you project wirelessly from a phone with the EB-1780W?
Yes, Wi-Fi is built in and the free iProjection app mirrors the screen of a phone, a tablet or a Chromebook. No additional module is needed, and the wireless connection is password-protected.
Does the EB-1780W's MHL port charge the phone while projecting?
Yes. The MHL interface displays the picture and sound of a compatible mobile device while charging its battery during the presentation. This is useful in long meetings, when the phone is the source and is draining at the same time.
Is the EB-1780W's speaker enough for a presentation?
It is only 1 W: that is the trade-off of this ultra-slim format, just about good enough to get by with a short video. A mini-jack audio input is provided, but for a full meeting room, plan on a speaker connected to your computer rather than to the projector.
How many hours does the EB-1780W's lamp last, and can it be replaced?
4,000 hours in normal mode and 7,000 hours in eco mode, for a 206 W lamp. It is replaceable, under the reference ELPLP94, and an ELPAF53 air filter is available for use in dusty environments.

Vertical keystone correction is automatic, over ± 30°, and four-corner adjustment fixes a lopsided image. The unit also starts up on its own as soon as it detects an input signal, which reduces setup to plugging in and projecting.

Yes, the split-screen function displays two sources simultaneously. The built-in image viewer also plays JPEG files from a USB flash drive, without a computer: a presentation exported as images can be projected straight from the drive.
