Does the EB-1780W really fit in a laptop bag?
Yes: 44 mm thick and 1.8 kg, with a footprint of 292 × 213 mm. It slips into a standard laptop bag, and a carrying case is supplied with the unit. It is the format designed for sales staff or trainers who present at their clients' premises.
What throw distance is needed for a 60-inch image with the EB-1780W?
Just 1.35 m to 1.62 m. Its short throw ratio, from 1.04 to 1.26:1, gives a large image from very close: participants can sit behind the projector instead of walking in front of it, and the front-facing vent directs heat away from the audience.
Can you project wirelessly from a phone with the EB-1780W?
Yes, Wi-Fi is built in and the free iProjection app mirrors the screen of a phone, a tablet or a Chromebook. No additional module is needed, and the wireless connection is password-protected.
Does the EB-1780W's MHL port charge the phone while projecting?
Yes. The MHL interface displays the picture and sound of a compatible mobile device while charging its battery during the presentation. This is useful in long meetings, when the phone is the source and is draining at the same time.
Is the EB-1780W's speaker enough for a presentation?
It is only 1 W: that is the trade-off of this ultra-slim format, just about good enough to get by with a short video. A mini-jack audio input is provided, but for a full meeting room, plan on a speaker connected to your computer rather than to the projector.
How many hours does the EB-1780W's lamp last, and can it be replaced?
4,000 hours in normal mode and 7,000 hours in eco mode, for a 206 W lamp. It is replaceable, under the reference ELPLP94, and an ELPAF53 air filter is available for use in dusty environments.
Does the EB-1780W straighten the image when it is placed at an angle?
Vertical keystone correction is automatic, over ± 30°, and four-corner adjustment fixes a lopsided image. The unit also starts up on its own as soon as it detects an input signal, which reduces setup to plugging in and projecting.
Can you display two sources side by side on the EB-1780W?
Yes, the split-screen function displays two sources simultaneously. The built-in image viewer also plays JPEG files from a USB flash drive, without a computer: a presentation exported as images can be projected straight from the drive.
What image does the EB-1780W give in a lit room?
3,000 lumens of white and colour brightness alike, 1,900 lumens in eco mode, with a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 at WXGA 1280 × 800 resolution. 3LCD technology handles the three colours on three separate panels, which keeps colours vivid without darkening the room.
What is the EB-1780W's power consumption, and is it noisy?
277 W in operation, 200 W in eco mode and 0.34 W in standby, with 39 dB(A) in normal mode and 30 dB(A) in eco mode. The unit also carries TCO environmental certification.
What is in the box of the EB-1780W?
The unit, its carrying case, a VGA cable, the power cable, the remote control with its batteries and the software on CD. The ELPMB23 ceiling mount and the ELPPT01 mounting plate are available separately for a permanent installation.
Is the EB-1780W projector new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. Quote the reference V11H795040 for any part: the lamp's reference is ELPLP94 and the air filter's is ELPAF53, to be given together with the projector's reference.
