TP-Link TL-SG108-M2 unmanaged Multi-Gigabit switch: 8 RJ45 2.5G Ethernet ports (100/1000/2500 Mbps) to connect an entire Wi-Fi 6/6E setup, NAS units and workstations at 2.5 Gbps over existing network cable.
Ports: 8 × 2.5 Gbps ports, backward compatible with 100/1000 Mbps, over Cat5e or Cat6 cable. Wall-mountable for discreet placement. Fanless: completely silent operation.
Performance: 40 Gbps switching capacity, 29.8 Mpps forwarding rate, 1.5 MB packet buffer, 16,000-entry MAC address table — no bottleneck for heavy transfers between NAS units, workstations and Wi-Fi access points.
Also: 10,000-byte Jumbo frames, flow control, auto MDI/MDI-X, 12 V DC power adapter included. No PoE.

What do the TL-SG108-M2's 2.5 Gbps ports bring?
All eight ports negotiate 100, 1,000 or 2,500 Mbps over existing Category 5e or 6 cable: Wi-Fi 6/6E access points, NAS units and demanding workstations go beyond Gigabit without recabling the building. The gain requires equipment that is also multi-gigabit.
Does this switch need configuring?
No: it is unmanaged, with no interface or settings. It starts switching as soon as it is powered on, each port adapting automatically to the speed of the connected device. To segment the network into VLANs, you need a managed model.
What internal performance does this 8-port model offer?
40 Gbps switching capacity and 29.8 Mpps, with a 16,000-entry MAC address table and a 1.5 MB buffer. Jumbo frames go up to 10,000 bytes, useful for transfers to a multi-gigabit NAS.
Where can this switch be installed, and is it noisy?
On a desk or mounted on a wall; it has no fan, so it is completely silent. The case measures 226 × 131 × 35 mm and operates from 0 to 40 °C, powered at 12 V by an external adapter.
Do I need new cabling to benefit from 2.5 Gbps?
No: 2.5GBASE-T was designed to run over existing Category 5e or 6 cable. That is the whole point of this standard compared with 10 Gigabit, which often requires new Category 6a infrastructure.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. This is the TP-Link TL-SG108-M2, an 8-port unmanaged multi-gigabit switch, with no power delivered over the network cable.
