1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Why does this switch only have fibre ports?
It is an all-fibre aggregation switch: its 48 Gigabit SFP slots take optical modules to connect remote buildings, floors or access switches. Four 10 Gbps SFP+ ports provide the uplink to the network core.
What happens if a power supply fails?
The second one takes over: this model has two plug-in power supply modules in 1+1 redundancy, which can be replaced without interrupting service. AC and DC modules can even be mixed, depending on the site's needs.
Does this switch support dynamic routing?
Yes, comprehensive: static routes, RIP v1 and v2, RIPng, OSPF, OSPFv3, IS-IS, IS-ISv6, BGP and BGP4+, with ECMP, VRRP and VRRP6, policy-based routing and routing policies. It is an aggregation device, not a mere access switch.
Can several S530 switches be stacked?
Yes, with iStack, using two dedicated 10 Gbps stacking ports: several chassis form a single logical switch, with redundancy between members and link aggregation across devices to make the connections more reliable.
Is this switch suitable for video distribution?
Yes: it supports a wide range of Layer 2 and Layer 3 multicast protocols — PIM SM, PIM DM, PIM SSM and IGMP snooping —, which the manufacturer explicitly intends for carrying high-definition video and videoconferencing.
What happens if the link to the aggregation layer is cut?
The Smart Link feature switches over to a backup link: the switch connects to several aggregation devices over separate links. VRRP, for its part, provides gateway redundancy for routed networks.
What performance does this aggregation switch claim?
224 Gbps of switching capacity and 168 Mpps, with a 32,000-entry MAC address table — twice that of a typical access switch. It operates from -5 to +50 °C, a wide range for a comms room without air conditioning.
How are connected devices authenticated?
By 802.1X or MAC address authentication, with dynamic application of user policies — VLAN, quality of service and access control lists. Each user or device thus receives its rights the moment it connects.
How is this aggregation switch managed?
Through the HUAWEI eKit app, the web interface, the command line or SNMP. It comes as a rack-mountable 1U chassis, to be installed in a rack with enough clearance for ventilation and access to the power supply modules.
