Can the GWN7624 power an IP phone over the network?
Yes, two of its Gigabit ports pass PoE through, with 6 W per port. That is enough to power an IP phone or a small sensor from the wall plate, with no power outlet needed in the room.
How many network sockets does the GWN7624 provide?
Four Gigabit ports: an uplink port that receives PoE and connects the access point to the network, two ports that pass PoE through, and a fourth data port. Phone, TV and desktop computer can therefore be connected directly to the wall plate.
What power supply does the GWN7624 need?
A PoE+ 802.3at port: total power draw can reach 25 W when both PoE outputs are powering devices. The access point also supports the 802.3az energy-saving standard.
What difference does the 4x4 on the GWN7624's 5 GHz band make?
Four radio chains on the 5 GHz band — versus two on 2.4 GHz: the data rate there reaches 1,733 Mbps, for a combined 2.03 Gbps. That is a high level for a wall-mounted access point, served by two 5 GHz antennas and two internal dual-band antennas.
How many devices does the GWN7624 serve at the same time?
Up to 200 simultaneous devices. That is well beyond the needs of a room or an office: the headroom is useful in a meeting room or a shared space equipped with a single wall-mounted access point.
How many Wi-Fi networks can be created on the GWN7624?
16 SSIDs in total, 8 per band, with captive portal and VLAN segmentation. A room, a department and guest access can thus coexist on the same wall plate.
Does the GWN7624 support WPA3?
Yes, in addition to WPA2-PSK and WPA/WPA2 Enterprise with TKIP or AES. The hardware boots on signed firmware, and each access point leaves the factory with its own certificate and its own unique random password.
Do you need a controller to manage several GWN7624 units?
No. A controller is built into the web interface of the access point and manages up to 30 local GWN access points, with no licence. GDMS Networking manages a fleet of devices in the cloud free of charge, and GWN Manager does so on your own servers.
How much wall space does the GWN7624 take up?
135 × 86 × 38.5 mm, designed to be flush-mounted in the wall: the installation is neat, with no visible housing. This is the format chosen in hotels and healthcare facilities, where the access point needs to go unnoticed.

Yes, it is in fact what it is designed for: advanced QoS reserves bandwidth for real-time traffic, and its PoE ports also power a wired phone in the same room.
