This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

What preamp does the Shure SM7B need?
A preamp or interface providing at least +60 dB of gain. This is the decisive point: below that, the voice stays too quiet and the hiss rises. Shure points to its SM7dB model, with a built-in preamp, as an alternative in that case.
Do you need a pop filter in front of the SM7B?
No: its built-in pop filter is highly effective and removes breath noise, even on whispered vocals. That is what makes it a radio and podcast microphone.
Does the SM7B pick up the hum from my computer monitor?
It is shielded against broadband interference from monitors and electrical devices, with excellent rejection of electromagnetic hum. A decisive point in a studio set up on a desk.
Can the SM7B’s tone be changed without software processing?
Yes: two switches on the back let you roll off the bass and boost the upper mids — the presence boost, which brings out the articulation of the voice.
Does the SM7B transmit desk vibrations?
They are virtually eliminated by an internal air suspension. Knocks on the work surface and mechanical noise therefore do not make their way into the recording.
What is in the box of the Shure SM7B?
The microphone with its yoke mount with integrated stand adapter, the detachable A7WS windscreen — which reduces coughing noise and warms up the sound for close-up vocals — and a switch cover plate.
What difference does the SM7B’s uniform cardioid polar pattern make?
It rejects off-axis sound without colouring it: what comes from the sides is attenuated, not distorted. With two microphones in use, this avoids the hollow tone typical of poorly isolated recordings.
Is this Shure SM7B microphone new and under warranty?
Yes, it is a new Shure product, a cardioid dynamic studio microphone with an XLR connection. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it in case a defect is found.
