TP-Link TL-SX1008 unmanaged switch: 8 RJ45 10G Ethernet ports (100/1000/10000 Mbps) to connect servers, NAS units and workstations at very high speed — the most straightforward plug-and-play way to build a 10G network in a network rack, with no configuration at all.
Ports: 8 RJ45 10 Gbps ports, backward compatible with 100/1000 Mbps. 1U rackmount format for installation in a standard 19-inch network rack.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Are all 8 ports on the TL-SX1008 10 Gbps?
Yes, all eight RJ45 ports reach 10 Gbps, and automatically drop back to 100 or 1,000 Mbps depending on the connected device. The 802.3an and 802.3bz standards are supported: the intermediate 2.5 and 5 Gbps speeds also work.
Can this 10G switch be configured?
No: it is unmanaged, with no VLANs, no link aggregation and no web interface. It is a raw-throughput switch, to be placed between servers, network storage and editing workstations, where configuration adds nothing.
What internal performance does the TL-SX1008 offer?
160 Gbps switching capacity and 119 Mpps: enough to run all eight ports at 10 Gbps in both directions without a bottleneck. The MAC address table holds up to 32,000 entries and the buffer memory reaches 16 MB.
Does the switch support jumbo frames?
Yes, up to 10,000 bytes. On 10 Gbps links to network storage or a backup server, these large frames reduce the processor load at both ends and improve real-world throughput.
Is the TL-SX1008 noisy?
It has a built-in fan. On a 10 Gbps switch that draws up to 28.4 W, this active cooling is what lets it operate from 0 to 50 °C. Install it in a rack or a technical room rather than on a desk.
Does this switch need an external power adapter?
No: it plugs straight into the mains, at 100-240 V and 50-60 Hz, with the cord supplied. A single power cable to run through the rack, with no bulky transformer.
How much rack space does the TL-SX1008 take up?
1U high, at 294 × 180 × 44 mm, rack-mount kit included. It therefore does not span the full width of a 19-inch rack, but the supplied kit secures it to the rails with no extra accessories.
Does this switch provide PoE?
No, none of its ports supplies power. The 10 Gbps devices it serves — servers, storage units, workstations — have their own power supply anyway.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The TL-SX1008 comes with the power cord, the rack-mount kit and the quick start guide, and carries CE, FCC and RoHS certification.
