What speeds are quoted for the 1 TB version of the P400 Lite?

3,500 MB/s read and 2,400 MB/s write sequential, on a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface compliant with the NVMe 1.4 standard. The 2 TB and 4 TB versions reach 2,700 MB/s write, with read speed the same across the whole range.

Does this Gen4 SSD work on a PCIe 3.0 motherboard?

Yes, it is stated to be backward compatible with PCIe 3.0, on both Intel and AMD platforms. Speeds are then capped by the motherboard's bus rather than by the drive, which still leaves them well above a SATA SSD.

How many terabytes of writes can this 1 TB version handle?

560 TB, or 560 full drive writes. The figures for the range are published: 140 TB on the 250 GB, 280 TB on the 500 GB and 1,200 TB on the 2 and 4 TB. The write endurance therefore doubles with each step up to the 2 TB.

What is the graphene heatsink on this drive for?

It draws heat away from the controller without adding thickness, unlike a metal heatsink: the drive stays at 3.8 mm and 9 g. It works together with the firmware's thermal management, which temporarily reduces the speed if the temperature climbs.

How is data integrity ensured?

Through end-to-end protection of the data path, which checks that data read back is exactly what was written, and through Patriot's SmartECC technology, which corrects read errors before they reach your files.

Which operating systems does this SSD support?

Windows 7, 8.0, 8.1 and 10. On Windows 7 and 8.0, a driver may be needed, depending on the configuration, before the drive is recognised. Its operating range is 0 to 70 °C, which covers the inside of a compact case during prolonged use.

Is the drive new and under warranty?
