Frequently asked questions about this product
How far from the ZyXEL GS1350-18HP can a camera be placed?
Up to 250 m in extended range mode, compared with 100 m on a standard Ethernet link. This is the GS1350 series' strong point in video surveillance: the camera at the far end of the car park stays powered and connected without an intermediate switch.
What PoE budget does the GS1350-18HP offer?
250 W in total across its 16 PoE+ ports, to the 802.3at standard, i.e. 30 W maximum per port. Enough to power sixteen ordinary cameras, or around ten more power-hungry motorised cameras.
What are the 2 combo ports on this switch for?
They are uplinks that can be used with Gigabit copper or SFP fibre, as you choose for each slot. They connect the switch to the video recorder or the network core, with fibre allowing long distances between buildings.
Can the GS1350-18HP be configured?
Yes: it is a smart managed model, with VLANs, quality of service and SNMP monitoring. You can isolate the cameras in their own VLAN and monitor the status of the PoE ports without using a command line.
How much power should you allow for this switch?
Up to 300.9 W, once the 250 W of PoE is being delivered to the cameras. It is this value that is used to size the UPS for the video surveillance room, not the consumption of the switch alone.
How much rack space does this switch take up?
330 × 230 × 44 mm and 2.42 kg: 1U high and 23 cm deep, designed for 19-inch rack mounting. Its shallow depth also lets it fit in a wall-mount video surveillance cabinet.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. This is the ZyXEL GS1350-18HP, reference GS1350-18HP-EU0101F, IPv6 compatible.
Rack-mountable Easy Smart switch, the middle ground for an SME that wants VLANs and QoS without the complexity of a fully managed switch, through a simple web interface.
Designed for SMEs and video surveillance: automatic IP camera recognition, loop prevention and remote port restart through Ruijie Cloud. Extension up to 250 m in camera mode.
Aruba Instant On switch for small businesses: full L2+ managed from the mobile app, the cloud portal or a local web interface, with a more measured PoE budget for flexible deployment of Wi-Fi access points and IP cameras.
Layer 2 managed switch for a small office powering a few Wi-Fi or IP devices over Power over Ethernet, with monitoring and scheduling via the Instant On mobile app.
•Layer 2 managed, configurable via the Instant On app and the web portal
Managed access switch designed for SMEs and branch offices: powers workstations, Wi-Fi access points and IP cameras over Power over Ethernet, with centralised control from Aruba Central and automated deployment.
•Managed via Aruba Central (cloud or on-premise), web GUI, CLI and REST API
•PoE+ up to 30 W per port (IEEE 802.3af/at, class 4)
Fast PoE instantly powers cameras, Wi-Fi access points and IP phones over the network cable, with no break on restart. Four 10G links absorb traffic to the network core. Web, cloud app or command line control, built-in DoS/802.1X security.
Covers a whole floor of cameras, Wi-Fi access points and IP phones on a single device, without multiplying power units. 10G links and a capacity of 176 Gbps absorb the combined traffic. VLANs, security and administration of enterprise equipment.
