Frequently asked questions about this product

Are the 24 ports of this Catalyst 2960 Gigabit?
No: they are 10/100 Mbps. Only the two combo ports reach Gigabit speed, over copper or SFP fibre, and they serve as uplinks. This is the point to check before connecting recent workstations.
What Layer 2 features does this switch offer?
VLANs, LACP and PAgP aggregation, rapid and multiple Spanning Tree (RSTP, MSTP), IGMP snooping, DiffServ for quality of service, and broadcast, multicast and unicast storm control.
How is administrative access secured?
Through SSH version 2, with RADIUS or TACACS+ authentication. Unencrypted Telnet access remains available, but encryption avoids exposing administrator credentials on the network.
