6,000 MB/s sequential read on PS5, compared with 6,200 MB/s on PC. The two figures are quoted separately, as the console imposes its own operating mode: the PS5 figure is the one to go by if the expansion is intended for the console rather than a tower.

What speeds are quoted for the 2 TB version of the P400 V4?

6,200 MB/s read and 5,200 MB/s write sequential, on a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface compliant with the NVMe 2.0 standard — the latest revision of the protocol. This puts it solidly above Gen3, without the heat of the most extreme models.

How does it avoid slowing down during a long session?

Through a built-in thermal sensor that controls throttling, combined with an improved ultra-thin graphene heatsink. The drive adjusts its speed to its actual temperature instead of succumbing to overheating, with the aim of consistent speeds throughout an intensive session.

How many terabytes of writes can this 2 TB version handle?

640 TB, or 320 full drive writes. That is a comfortable margin for a gaming or video editing PC, where most of the data written comes from installations and updates rather than constantly rewriting the same files.
