What power supply do you need for the AP362E?
A PoE 802.3af port is enough: the access point draws 9.4 W at most, well below the standard's 15.4 W. A single network cable therefore carries power and data, with no power outlet needed on the ceiling.
What do the AP362E's smart antennas do?
They automatically direct the signal towards each device instead of broadcasting evenly, adapting to the environment. Their gain reaches 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 5 dBi on 5 GHz, all built into a 180 mm disc.
How many devices does the AP362E accept?
128 at most, a number that varies with the radio environment, and up to 16 separate Wi-Fi networks. That is the scale of an open-plan office floor, a shop or a classroom.
What throughput does the AP362E deliver?
2,400 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 575 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with 2×2 MU-MIMO on each. 1024-QAM modulation and Wi-Fi 6 OFDMA serve several devices in the same time slot rather than one after another.
Does the AP362E set its channels by itself?
Yes, automatic radio calibration collects the status of neighbouring access points and adjusts channel and transmit power to limit interference. This avoids having to redo a site survey every time a new access point is added.
Does the AP362E support WPA3?
Yes: WPA3-SAE, WPA2, 802.1X authentication and AES encryption. The access point also supports 802.11w, which protects management frames against forced-disconnection attacks.
Does the connection hold when moving between several AP362E access points?
Yes: the access point supports 802.11r for fast roaming and 802.11k and 802.11v to steer the device towards the best access point. A call or a video conference therefore does not drop in a corridor.
Do you need a controller to deploy AP362E access points?
Three modes coexist: local configuration via EasyWeb, management by a WAC controller, or remote management via the HUAWEI eKit app and the SNC platform. Deployment is done by scanning a code or by connecting to the management Wi-Fi.
Can you separate the visitor network on the AP362E?
Yes, each of the 16 SSIDs can have its own VLAN, authentication mode and encryption. Staff, guests and connected devices thus stay segregated on the same access point.
Can the AP362E be installed at high altitude?
Yes, up to 5,000 m, with the maximum permitted temperature dropping by 1 °C for every 300 m above 1,800 m. Its nominal range is 0 to 40 °C, with 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity.
How much space does the AP362E take up, and where does it mount?
A disc 180 mm in diameter and 35 mm thick, weighing 450 g, to be mounted on a wall or ceiling. Its discreet format and single network cable limit the visual impact in a lobby or a meeting room.
Is the equipment new and under warranty?
