Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the GWN7672 broadcast on all three bands at the same time?
Yes, it is tri-band with one radio per band: 5,765 Mbps on 6 GHz, 4,320 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with 2×2:2 MU-MIMO on each. Seven single-band antennas handle the job.
What does the GWN7672's 6 GHz band offer compared with the other two?
Channels up to 320 MHz wide, versus 240 MHz on the 5 GHz band and 40 MHz on 2.4 GHz — this is what takes its throughput to 5,765 Mbps. The spectrum there is also the least congested, since only recent devices can use it.
What does Wi-Fi 7 MLO actually bring to this access point?
Multi-Link Operation lets a compatible device use several bands at the same time instead of choosing one: throughput adds up and latency drops, with one band taking over when another suffers interference. Multi-RU further strengthens resistance to interference.
Why does the GWN7672 have two 5 Gbps ports?
Because its three radios add up to far more than a Gigabit: a standard port would become the bottleneck. The two 5 Gbps ports let you aggregate the link or serve a second high-speed wired device from the access point.
What power supply does the GWN7672 need?
A PoE+ 802.3at port: its consumption reaches 25 W, well beyond the 15.4 W of an 802.3af port. Also check the switch's total PoE budget before connecting several of them to the same unit.
How many devices can the GWN7672 serve at the same time?
384 concurrent Wi-Fi clients, served by enhanced downlink and uplink OFDMA. That is the scale of a busy open-plan office, a conference room or a hotel lobby.
How many Wi-Fi networks can be created on the GWN7672?
16 SSIDs per band, i.e. 48 in total across the three radios, with 802.1Q VLAN tagging, 802.1x authentication and a captive portal for visitors. Each band can therefore carry its own networks.
Do you need a hardware controller to manage several GWN7672s?
No. A controller is built into the web interface of the access point and manages up to 50 access points from the GWN range on site, with no licence. GDMS Networking manages an unlimited number of devices in the cloud free of charge, and GWN Manager, on your own servers, scales up to 3,000 access points.
What is the GWN7672's built-in Bluetooth for?
It includes Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3, which acts as a relay for sensors, beacons and tracking tags installed nearby, as well as for location services, with no additional gateway on the premises.
Does the GWN7672 support WPA3?
Yes, as well as WPA2-PSK and WPA/WPA2 Enterprise with TKIP or AES. The hardware boots on digitally signed firmware, and each access point leaves the factory with its own certificate and its own unique random password.
What is in the box, and where can the GWN7672 be mounted?
The access point, wall and ceiling mounting kits and the quick start guide. The enclosure measures 220 × 220 × 54 mm and weighs 838 g, with a three-colour LED and a Kensington lock against theft.
In what conditions does the GWN7672 operate?
Indoors, between 0 and 45 °C, with 10 to 90 % non-condensing humidity. Given its 25 W consumption, choose an open location rather than a closed enclosure without ventilation.
Is the equipment new and under warranty?
