Is a PoE+ switch enough to power the WBE660S?

No: its consumption reaches 41 W, well beyond the 30 W an 802.3at port can supply. It needs PoE++ 802.3bt. The access point also accepts USB-C Power Delivery at 15 V / 3 A.

Why does the WBE660S have a 10 Gbps port?

Because its three radios add up to more than 20 Gbps: a 2.5 Gbps port would already be overwhelmed. The 10 Gbps port, which also negotiates 1, 2.5 and 5 Gbps, removes that ceiling, and a second Gigabit port completes the connectivity.

What difference does 4x4 on all three bands make on the WBE660S?

Four radio chains per band instead of two: the access point communicates with many more devices in parallel. Throughput reaches 11,530 Mbps on 6 GHz, 8,646 Mbps on 5 GHz and 1,376 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.

What is the WBE660S's smart antenna?

An antenna whose radiation pattern adapts continuously: it steers around sources of interference instead of suffering from them, which stabilises throughput in a busy radio environment — a station concourse, a shopping centre or a very dense office floor.

Is the cloud licence included with the WBE660S?

Yes, a 1-year Nebula Professional Pack licence is included. The access point can be managed from the Nebula cloud, an on-site controller or in standalone mode, as you prefer: that is the principle of NebulaFlex Pro.

How does the WBE660S distribute devices across its three bands?

Through load balancing and smart client steering: the access point measures the signal, selects the appropriate band and spreads tri-band devices across 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz instead of letting them pile up on the same frequency.

Does the WBE660S support enterprise authentication?

Yes, with WPA3 and 802.1X and RADIUS: each user authenticates against a server, without a shared key. Rogue access point detection and MAC address filtering complete the setup.

Does the WBE660S also act as a Bluetooth beacon?

Yes, it has a built-in Bluetooth Low Energy beacon for IoT uses — sensors, tracking tags or proximity services — with no additional gateway to install on the premises.

Does the WBE660S withstand interference from a mobile mast?

Yes, it has built-in 4G and 5G interference filters that reduce interference from nearby mobile networks. Combined with the smart antenna, they are designed for sites where the spectrum is very crowded.

Can two WBE660S units be linked without a cable between them?

Yes, wireless mesh lets an access point connect to the network wirelessly. It must still be powered on site, and 802.11r, k and v fast roaming keeps the connection going as a user moves around.

In what conditions does the WBE660S operate?

Indoors, between 0 and 45 °C, with 10 to 90 % non-condensing humidity. Given its 41 W consumption, choose an open location rather than an enclosed space without airflow.
