Frequently asked questions about this product
How are the ports on the Zyxel XGS1935-52 laid out?
48 Gigabit RJ-45 ports and 4 SFP+ slots at 10 Gbps. The four optical links are used for uplinks to servers or an aggregation switch: the 48 ports remain available for workstations.
Does this switch route between VLANs?
Yes: L2+/L3 management, with static routing, VLANs, quality of service, IGMP snooping and LACP aggregation. Traffic between internal segments therefore does not need to go all the way up to the router.
Does this switch power devices over PoE?
No, none of its ports supplies power. It is a high-density access switch for workstations and servers: cameras and Wi-Fi access points will need to be powered by a PoE model or injectors.
How is the XGS1935-52 managed day to day?
Through a web interface or a command line, as you prefer, and through Zyxel's Nebula cloud if you would rather manage all your devices from a single console.
What performance does this switch offer?
176 Gbps of switching capacity, sized for 48 Gigabit ports and 4 links at 10 Gbps active at the same time. That is what avoids a bottleneck at full load across an entire floor.
How much rack space does this switch take up?
1U, in a 19-inch rack-mountable metal enclosure, with 52 ports on the front. That is the expected format for a high-density campus or SME access switch.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. This is the Zyxel XGS1935-52, part number XGS1935-52-EU0101F, a managed switch with 48 Gigabit ports and 4 links at 10 Gbps.
Layer 2 Gigabit switch for SMEs, with PoE+ ports to power cameras and Wi-Fi access points, plus SFP fibre links. Silent rackable format, driven through UniFi Network.
Aruba Instant On switch for small businesses: full L2+ managed from the mobile app, the cloud portal or a local web interface, with a more measured PoE budget for flexible deployment of Wi-Fi access points and IP cameras.
Total PoE+ budget of 384 W to power a large number of cameras, Wi-Fi access points and IP phones. 104 Gbps switching capacity, driven from the Omada SDN cloud.
Covers a whole floor of cameras, Wi-Fi access points and IP phones on a single device, without multiplying power units. 10G links and a capacity of 176 Gbps absorb the combined traffic. VLANs, security and administration of enterprise equipment.
Smart managed layer 2 switch for a dense fleet of workstations and servers, with configuration and monitoring via the Instant On mobile app, the cloud portal or a local web interface.
•Layer 2, configurable via the Instant On app, the cloud portal and the local web interface
Fast PoE instantly powers cameras, Wi-Fi access points and IP phones over the network cable, with no break on restart. Four 10G links absorb traffic to the network core. Web, cloud app or command line control, built-in DoS/802.1X security.
